Grantmaking
The Foundation takes the grantmaking aspect of its mission seriously, making donations to 501(c) 3 organizations that promote conservation, education, and equestrian activities. Past grant recipients include the UW School of Veterinary Medicine, Friends of Military Ridge, the Madison, Verona, and Dodgeville school districts, the Wisconsin Dressage and Combined Training Association, Boys & Girls Club, Evans Scholars, and the Madison Community Foundation. Annual scholarships are granted to five Iowa County high school seniors who have been accepted to accredited universities and plan to major in the sciences.
Equestrian Component
The Foundation hosts international clinics for the sport of eventing. (A triathlon sport which includes dressage, cross country jumping and show jumping). Student riders are allowed to hone their cross country jumping skills on the open land areas.
Limited Public Access
In addition to clinicians, groups that have used the Foundation property include school groups, artists, sports organizations, naturalists and business groups. The Foundation is committed to providing geologic field trips to elementary school aged children and adults.
